History

Construction of the wall is one of the most important parts in the history of the Chinese nation architecture, namely to limit urban areas and housing. Various theories why the Great Wall was established among others as: 

1. bastion

2. possession limit

3. border marker

4. lines of communication to convey a message

Based on written evidence, basically the majority of Chinese Wall contructed during the period of the Qin Dynasty, Han Dynasty and Ming Dynasty. But most of this giant wall is the result of the period of the Ming Dynasty.


1. Pre-Qin

Before the Qin Dynasty period, the construction of a giant wall earliest performed on "Spring and Autumn Period" (722 BC - 481 BC) and the "Warring States Period" (453 BC - 221 BC) to withstand enemy attacks and the tribes of northern China. Countries that contribute to the construction of the first recorded inter alia the country Chu, Qi, Yan, Wei and Zhao. In subsequent periods, the Giant Wall grew longer, improved and modified.

2. Qin Dynasty

In the year 220 BC under the command of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, General Meng Tian collect employment for 300.000 peoples to connect previously walls as a line of defense. 3. Han Dynasty

In the year 127 BC, when Emperor Han Wudi ruled (140 BC - 87 BC), the renovation and construction projects the old walled section conducted over 20 years adds to the overall length of the wall to be 1.000 kilometers. In the first period of the Han, a Giant Wall serves as a protective area west of Nations Hun who threatened  the people of China. After Hun influence weakened, not continued construction of the wall. Beginning in 39 BC by order of Guang Wudi, General Ma Cheng restart construction of the Great Wall project. At that time, the Hun Nation split into two parts, the north and south. Northern Huns successfully subjugated by the Han, while the southern part of the peace. After that, the construction of a Giant Wall abandoned because China already has a large military force.

4.Ming Dynasty

During the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), after the Mongols conquered, Giant Wall constructed from the previous period to the record length of 5.650 kilometers. At this time, the Great Wall of China is divided into 9 districts are equipped military fortifications and gates to control the border area. Thereon made roads as transportation. The most eastern gate called Shanhaiguan and most western gate called Jiayuguan.

The Reason Why Great Wall Be Known By Whole World

1. The biggest and longest wall in the world.
2. The shape  is unique, like a dragon.
3. Have very much beacons, and no one can make sure how much that things.
4. Combination from some defense wall from various region.
5. Many worker who died and  them buried in Great Wall.
6. Builded by million people.
7. Great Wall is historic wall and the age was more than 2000years.
